A Joy 11BU mine loader was donated by Joy Mining during 2004. Painted in Joy's trademark Franklin Orange it graced the front of Joy's office and workshop in Donald Street Lithgow. When this building was sold the loader was offered to the museum. Thanks go to Joy Mining, Architectural and Industrial Coatings (who stored it on their new premises) and Henry Plant Hire and Equipment who donated cranage and transport of the loader to the mine. It now sits on the loading dock of the Hayshed site pending preparation of a permanent home in the museum grounds. |
