| On Monday 15 March 2004 a group of almost 170 seniors from across the City of Lithgow converged on the State Mine for a barbecue lunch. Combined seniors groups, Lithgow City Council and the State Mine had banded together to help create a special event to celebrate Seniors Week.
After a ride on the Zig Zag Railway our guests spent an enjoyable afternoon of food, music and merriment in the Bath House. Many explored the State Mine site and witnessed blacksmithing demonstrations by Phil Spark.
