3801 Limited Visit - 10 March 2002 |
3801 Limited, a Sydney based rail tour company, conducted a heritage tour of the Lithgow area on Sunday 10th March. |
3801, the green steam-locomotive from which the company gets its name, pulled in at Lithgow station with over 100 passengers on its restored passenger coaches.
The tour were then taken by bus to the State Mine Heritage Park & Railway, where a delicious barbeque lunch was provided by the Lithgow & District Workmans Club in the stately and picturesque old Bathhouse of the mine.

After lunch, the 3801 group were then taken on tours of the State Mine Heritage Park & Railway, the Small Arms Museum and the heritage areas of Lithgow. This latter part of the day was conducted by Ian Rufus and Roseanne Paskin of Lithgow Heritage Tours.
The feedback for the day was very positive, with the 3801 tour guides and participants being impressed with the lunch, the different venues and the heritage tour.
