Used to store explosives and detonators for use in the State Mine, these concrete huts were placed some distance from the mine, and behind a high earthen wall, in case of an explosion.

The site is now part of the picnic area for the State Mine Heritage Park & Railway.

The Central Tablelands Mountain Bike Club has a track on the State Mine site which finishes near the Powder Magazines.
